The company I’m working with have new projects coming in, and therefore we are now hiring the following positions (note these are NOT call center/helpdesk/hotline positions! rest assured):
Unix Level 1 Support Engineer (5 Positions)
Unix Level 2 Support Engineer (5 Positions)
Windows Level 1 Support Engineer (4 Positions)
Windows Level 2 Support Engineer (15 Positions)
Responsibilities:
Provide 24/7 Remote Support To Global Clients
Incident management:
Scripted Resolution - Follows Documented Instructions
Operations management:
Event Detection and Notification
Log and dispatch
Scripted routine/scheduled tasks (e.g. routine checks)
Standard documented requests (e.g. backup/restore)
Service request administration (if necessary)
Requirements (Unix):
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in any field (IT stream would be an advantage)
- Minimum work experience required in IT field – 1 year (Level 1) / 2 years (Level 2)
- With minimum of 6 months (Level 1)/ 1 year (Level 2) in UNIX Server systems administration (ANY flavor)
- Working knowledge File System Management, Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and Patch Installation – Good to have
- Basic Understanding on Remote Access Tools (PCAnywhere or VNC or Terminal Server or Citrix) & Network Configuration items (NTP, DNS, TCP/IP, Hosts, NIS, Telnet, Rlogin, FTP and DHCP)
Requirements (Windows):
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in any field (IT stream would be an advantage)
- Minimum 2 years experience required in IT field
- With minimum of 1 year of Windows Server systems administration
- Working knowledge in Windows Active Directory, TCP/IP, Networking, Server Health Check, Remote Access Tools (PCAnywhere or VNC or Terminal Server or Citrix)
- Working knowledge of Web Services (IIS) and DNS/DHCP – Good to have
Requirements (General):
- Good English communication and customer service skills
- Should possess the ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
- Should be willing to work on shifting schedule
